COUNCIL ELECTIONS - Which candidates can stand up for democracy? |
* In Corio Ward: Vote 1 - Stephen JUHASZ *
The Councils of Greater Geelong, Surf Coast, Queenscliff, Golden Plains and Colac-Otway all have an opportunity to stand up for the community and say NO to Barwon Water and State Government's non-consultative, medically reckless decision to add industrial waste-grade, contaminated fluoride to the drinking water supply. Vote for candidates who publicly promise they will do any or all of (1) Demand that state government halt the fluoridation order and conduct a binding poll (referendum) to determine the WILL of the PEOPLE (2) Work for bringing the Barwon Water authority back into the hands of the local people, as was always intended when the Geelong community purchased it from government in the early 1900s. BAFF urges all candidates to provide their promise on fluoride to BAFF, and advertise it publicly. <click here> for promises so far, to 18/11. |

State Government, Member for Bellarine Lisa Neville, and Member for Geelong Ian Trezise have broken their promises on ensuring that the community would make the decision on fluoridation. John Eren, Michael Crutchfield, and MLCs Gayle Tierney and Jaala Pulford have equally failed their communities. Together with the Barwon Water board they have betrayed the people, the water consumers.
