FluorideWatch

(updated 3 June 2009)

As the recent ads in the Geelong Independent and Geelong Advertiser noted:

“Barwon Water newsletter maintains an eerie silence about its planned fluoridation”

The Letter to the Editor in Geelong Advertiser (2/6) by Kester Baines, called it “a deathly silence”.

BAFF will try to obtain information and post it here – information on the following things that we

should be already informed and warned of ….. [Warned by who? …..

By Barwon Water, the Health Minister,

local MPs Lisa Neville, Ian Trezise, John Eren, Michael Crutchfield,

and by Barwon Health & the GP Association of Geelong]

               I.      What date exactly do they intend to pump the fluoride chemical into our water?

According to the Geelong Advertiser article of 2/6, the date that Barwon Water plan to

pump the chemical (poison) into the water is 22nd June – could be a week earlier or later,

fluoridation authorities are known for playing funny games like that!

II.      Exactly what chemical will it be, fluorosilicic acid, or another variety of fluoride?

The Geelong Independent has recently reported that Incitec-Pivot will supply

 fluorosilicic acid.

III.      Will it be a pharmaceutical grade product, free of contamination?

Wherever else Incitec-Pivot supplies fluorosilicic acid (FSA) it is low-grade industry waste,

contaminated with arsenic, lead, cadmium and mercury.

How much arsenic, mercury, lead or other heavy metals will it contain?

IV.      Will fluoride-free water, or compensation be provided for people in vulnerable groups

who cannot take fluoride, eg. those with chemical sensitivity to fluoride, kidney patients,

thyroid patients, those with already brittle bones, parents of infants who are formula

feeding and risk overdose if using fluoride tap water?

            V.      Will the authorities responsible for fluoridation be conducting any tests of fluoride levels

in people’s tissues, or bone samples, to find out how the chemical is accumulating in our

bodies? Will this testing be targeted to people living near, or working in the industries that

produce large amounts of fluoride as a toxic pollutant – industries like the Alcoa aluminium

smelter & the Shell oil refinery?
